CAVALCADE - DEMO
When your first experience with a band involves a show down an alleyway, and having a band member trying to pour goon in your mouth, but instead drenching you, you know you’re moshing.
Running furiously into the ever growing circle pit of fast melodic punk rock, Melbournes Cavalcade have unleashed a sample of things to come with their debut demo. Forming late last year, the band is still relatively new to Melbournes crowds, yet those that have seen them are easily caught up with the technical riffs and catchy gang vocals.
The very punk recorded four track demo flies straight into what these boys are all about from the opening riff. Forget about your old 4 chord punk rock. The new exciting brand of fast technical punk rock is defiantly here, and its easy to understand why people are getting behind it. Showing that are handy with their tools, both guitars and bass are all over their fret boards producing quality harmonies leading into more basic structured choruses, where the vocals take hold. The vocals throughout this recording have left me impressed with the aggressive, yet urget clean tones, and the songs have been well structured to keep things changing up and forcing young mosh lords into tough decisions, like whether they should be two stepping or stage diving.
As previously mentioned the band is still finding their feet amongst the live music scene, but playing alongside bands, such as Chucking a Mosh royalty, 28 days, Cavalcade will soon be dragging their goon filled live show to venues through Australia.
